Services

CENDI offers its services in two principal modes:

The Formal or Institutional Mode

This mode is offered by the 12 childhood centers in 4 cities of the state of Nuevo Leon. This service is directed to the care and education of the children of working mothers that live primarily in disadvantaged areas. A 30% of our quota is open to the general public. The number of children in this mode is currently 3,150.

The Non-formal Mode

Our institution, as promoter of an inclusive, impartial and respectful of the diversity quality policy, has extended its services to non-working mothers in poverty-stricken communities through the program “Aprendiendo Juntos”, intended for families with children from 0 to 6 years old in communities near the CENDI. This mode is in charge of specialists and teachers of our institution and has currently 1,150 children dividend in 13 groups.

Attention Levels

The attention levels are established by regulations, applying chronological criteria. The different levels are: Infants, from 45 days to 1 and a half years old; Toddlers, from 1 and a half to 3 years old; Preschoolers, from 3 to 6 years old.

Each Level is divided as follows:

Our institution makes the transition of children from a level to another based on 2 criteria: the chronological age and the maturity level.

System of Comprehensive Evaluation

The Comprehensive Child Development Evaluation is one of our most important tools. This system is based on scientifically developed indicators and parameters applied in our country (maturity index, development coefficient, health index, nutrition state, economic level, etc.). The technique is applied since 1990 and the Technical Council and the teaching staff are in charge of its correct application and interpretation.

The evaluation of the child’s development is an everyday process but specific results are presented at 3 points in the school year:

  • Diagnostic or Initial Evaluation (August)
  • Middle Evaluation (January)
  • Final or Annual Evaluation (June)

The Evolution Chart is a document with the initial, middle and final evaluations that is given annually to the parents during all the 6 years of the child stay at CENDI. The document has an observations section that specifies the outstanding skills of the child and the opportunity areas that need special attention from the parents and teachers.

Innovative Programs

As a public institution we follow the official programs of Early and Preschool Education, but in addition to this we have Co-curricular Programs focused on enriching the learning process and the formation of the children through the practice of several disciplines instructed by professionals. Some of these disciplines are: English, computer science, music, dance, draw and modeling, physical education, karate, yoga and others.

Other important program is the Support of the Child’s Development Lags. This program is organized and structured in a systemic way and conducted by the team of specialists at CENDI, and its propose is to diminish development lags and to treat the factors that cause them. A control group, closely monitored by the Technical Council, measures the intervening actions at CENDI. The council also decides when a specific case is in need of an external specialized institution, and the Social Work Area is in charge of all the arrangements to give the child the attention needed.
